Land Administration Manager

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

Manages the proper receiving, recording, documentation, and dissemination of all land agreements and land contracts. Supervises land administration professionals to maintain compliance with Company policies and procedures. Works closely with Accounting, Engineering, Regulatory, Operations, and IT to ensure records are set up in an accurate and timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Integrates land/legal information with financial and reserve reporting
  • Builds and maintains all billing and revenue divisions of interest
  • Sets up oil & gas leases and related contracts in BOLO
  • Reviews and ensures compliance associated with lease and contract obligations
  • Provides acreage counts, lease expirations, and lease projections to management for reserve reporting and other company controls
  • Oversees setup and maintenance of ownership records on 1,000 operated wells
  • Ensures compliance with legal and audit regulations
  • Processes lease and contract obligation payments, including delay rental and shut-in payments
  • Collaborates with other departments to ensure best work practices and products are produced
  • Reviews and assesses land systems and business processes to ensure they are working efficiently
  • Manages workload of land administration staff
  • Interfaces with due diligence teams to be sure acquisitions and divestitures are handled timely and efficiently
  • Approves JIB and revenue decks for audit purposes
  • Builds strong relationships with Operations, Revenue Accounting and other teams to ensure key interfaces are developed and maintained
  • Ensures BOLO land application is providing needed functionality; works with managers of Revenue and IT to ensure upgrades are tested
  • Coordinates special projects as necessary

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Land Management, Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years Land Administration experience, with both Lease and Division Order exposure

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated pay range: $160,000 – $190,000 (depending upon experience of the successful candidate)

*Frequently sit for extended periods of time. Regularly view a computer screen for extended periods of time. Regularly type on a keyboard and/or perform data entry continuously. Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend and lift up to 10 lbs (files or documents). May also require occasional lifting of heavy objects (30+ lbs).
