Production Analyst

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

The Production Analyst is responsible for accurate recording, allocation, and reporting of oil, gas, and water production volumes using IFS applications. This role ensures data integrity between field operations, measurement systems and accounting platforms.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze and reconcile daily and monthly volumes for gas/oil/water
  • Prepare, submit and validate RRC production filings
  • Prepare oil splits for purchaser payment
  • Validate and reconcile oil and gas statements
  • Work closely with field personnel to ensure timely and accurate transmission of production data
  • Review production data to ensure data quality and accuracy
  • Identify and analyze volume discrepancies, troubleshoot problems, and resolve appropriately
  • Provide reconciled production and sales monthly to Revenue department
  • Research and compile production data for engineers, and other stakeholders as requested
  • Assist with the integration of acquisitions and divestitures as it relates to production data
  • Assist in modeling operational production flows in ProCount detailing production allocations
  • Document production reporting processes
  • Assist with departmental projects
  • Support audits and ensure compliance with reporting standards
  • Special projects, as needed
  • Travel to Texas field office on occasion

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline preferred
  • Prior experience working with IFS applications preferred
  • Prior experience with RRC filings in Texas preferred

Skills and Knowledge

  • Commitment to Discovery Natural Resources expectations and core values.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly in Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Preference for SQL skills
  • Robust understanding of production accounting, including allocation methods and reconciliations
  • Must have the ability to prioritize workload
  • Ability to communicate regularly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with management, coworkers, and regulatory agencies

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated pay range: $70,000 – $110,000 (depending upon experience of the successful candidate)
