Division Order Analyst

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

The Division Order Analyst provides support within the Land Administration department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Analyze and interpret title opinions, contracts, leases, lease amendment, survey plats, payments, ownership reports, and various title documents.
  • Perform new well setups inclusive of calculations of owner interest and leasehold, review title curative, and prepare division orders.
  • Independently research and resolve complex inquiries and issues related to DOI ownership and payments.
  • Create and maintain records for producing properties, incorporating title documentation, contract requirements, state statutes and lease obligations.
  • Interface with owners, partners, attorneys, and Revenue / JIB accounting in obtaining or providing data and/or explanations.
  • Advanced ability to understand complex legal descriptions for a tract of land and interpret land title information.
  • Process changes in ownership for leases and producing property records.
  • Review title opinions, address title curative issues and requests.
  • Assist with Unclaimed Property and audit processes.
  • Establish and cultivate strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist on special projects.
  • Assist in training and mentoring co-workers to provide continued skill development.

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent, college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience with an in-house Oil & Gas Operator, Land and Lease Administration Department.
  • Lease Analyst experience a plus.
  • Land and lease systems experience, with BOLO experience preferred.
  • Background in title analysis including interpretation of title opinions, contracts, leases, assignments and maps.

  • Effective organizational and time management skills, demonstrating an ability to organize and manipulate data in a detailed and logical format.

  • Flexible with changing business environment and processes.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Estimated pay range: $100,000 – $130,000 (depending on experience of the successful candidate)
