Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

The Field Optimizer optimizes production and troubleshoots production related problems. Evaluates artificial lift installations and works to maximize well pumping efficiencies by utilizing specialized equipment and closely monitoring production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Inspect equipment problems and perform routine maintenance and repairs
  • Maintain specialized equipment such as fluid level analyzers
  • Review production data to determine problem areas
  • Collects field data, evaluates and makes recommendations to pull pumps or perform well work needed to maintain optimum efficiencies and track/report results
  • Makes specific recommendations to improve artificial lift performance and maximize production on various lift methods.
  • Follow and support all Discovery HSE policies at all times
  • Determine if safety hazard exists and take appropriate action

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years oilfield industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years lease operator experience

  • Possess the skillsets necessary to perform data based analysis using the available technology (excel, SCADA, etc)
  • Knowledge of the program and operation of the Echometer fluid level and dynamometer.
  • Ability to analyze acquired data and recommend changes to solve operating and production problems
  • Ability to make adjustments to operating controls to maximize production and minimize operation costs
  • Basic programming of PLC’s, RPC’s, Plunger controllers and RF troubleshooting as needed on various well control devices
  • Experience with various lift methods
  • Self-starter, able to perform duties with minimal supervision
  • Requires ability to adapt to fluctuating work schedule, i.e. frequent overtime; off duty call outs; varied work schedule
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work in team environment
  • Advanced computer knowledge
  • Basic mechanical skills
  • Valid driver license and good driving record

*Majority of work will be outdoors under variable weather conditions. May require occasional lifting of heavy objects. Physical ability to perform routine maintenance on oil and gas wells as required.
