Maintenance Operator

Discovery Natural Resources LLC is a domestic, onshore exploration and production company with over 1,000 wells in operation in Texas.

The Maintenance Operator troubleshoots and evaluates production facility/equipment related problems and works with the team to develop and implement repairs and maintenance schedules.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support Maintenance Foreman in daily maintenance activities.
  • Supervise contract inspectors and roustabout crews performing maintenance work.
  • Plan/schedule/prioritize maintenance activities based on production volumes, and HSE risk level.
  • Develop and implement standardized parts lists for common maintenance activities.
  • Report and track cost associated with maintenance activity.
  • Seek and identify potential process improvements for maintenance work.
  • Identify failure trends in production equipment and work with team to develop solution.
  • Follow and support all Discovery HSE policies at all times.
  • Determine if safety hazard exists and take appropriate action.
  • Locate and mark buried lines and infrastructure.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 5 years oilfield industry experience
  • Minimum of 3 years lease operator experience
  • Minimum of 2 years workover experience preferred

  • Requires ability to adapt to fluctuating work schedule, i.e. frequent overtime; off duty call outs; varied work schedule.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to work in team environment.
  • Advanced computer knowledge.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Valid driver license and good driving record.

 *Majority of work will be outdoors under variable weather conditions. May require occasional lifting of heavy objects. Physical ability to perform routine maintenance on oil and gas wells as required.
